Explore the possibilities of bronze wire as a unique and beautiful material for creating bangles with an aged, rustic look.  These bangles are created to balance perfectly on the arm with a serene, symmetrical feel.  Learn to wire wrap, ball wire, forge, form, shape, drill, texture and heat patina.  Students may wish to bring appropriate, small found objects or charms for use as a focal.  These bangles are very addicting to create and look terrific worn together!

Supply list:

  • 1 foot, 14 or 12 gauge bronze (or copper) wire, per bracelet

  • 2 feet, 20 gauge bronze (or copper) wire, per bracelet

  • 2 feet, 22 gauge bronze (or copper) wire, per bracelet

  • Small amount of 26 gauge sheet metal, copper or bronze

  • Stones, beads, buttons, pearls, charms, etc.

  • Chain nose jewelry pliers

  •  6 inch, narrow nose, toothed pliers (hardware store)

  • Extra-long round nose

  • Small round nose jewelry pliers

  • Medium size Wrap N Tap pliers

  • Flush cutters for wire

  • Awl

  • 4 oz. ball peen hammer

  • Chasing hammer

  • Small 12 oz rubber dead blow hammer or rawhide mallet

  • Steel bench block

  • Bench pillow (or hand towel) for use under bench block

  • Butane torch

  • Butane

  • Center punch

  • Two hole metal punch

  • Measuring tape or ruler

  • Fine grit foam sanding block

Optional:

  • Bracelet mandrel, metal 

  • Dremel and drill bits for metal, various sizes

  • Ear plugs

  • Work light

  • Beading mat or work surface
