Burn Baby Burn - Free Form Metal Design & Enameling

at Spring Beads

Instructor: Kathy Combs

Class time – 12:30-4pm October 30 2011

Cost:  $70

Enameling is an ancient craft of permanently fusing glass to metal through heat.

In this class you will learn to cut, file and sculpt copper into free form shapes by using metal sheers, a metal file, dapping block and anvil.  Once you have shaped your metal, you will learn to fuse enamel glass powders in layers on both sides to create unique, vibrantly colorful pieces to incorporate into your jewelry designs.  You will also learn to bead and enamel the ends of copper wire.

You will leave class with two completed projects (two pendants or one pendant and a pair of earrings) and fresh ideas just waiting for the torch!
